Our Story

Our Story

If you are looking for a taste of Peru, you have found it! Machupicchu Restaurant in Providence, Rhode Island has been serving authentic Peruvian cuisine for over 20 years. Owner Elizabeth Brito came to Rhode Island from Lima, Peru in the year 2000. Elizabeth came to America with a dream to bring Peruvian culture and cuisine to New England where they are known for their fresh selection of seafood available year around. In 2004 Elizabeth opened a small restaurant known as Machupicchu I located at 651 Admiral Street which provides family style service. With the support of our customers and the community of Providence we were able to open our second restaurant Machupicchu II at 1366 Chalkstone Avenue in 2016. Machupicchu II continues to cherish the the value of 100% authentic Peruvian food but with a more upscale style of service to ensure a stronger personal connection with our customers.
